The installation consists of 18 unique sculptures made from hardwoods. Together, they form a tree in continuous symbolic growth and reproduction.
The pieces feature delicate details in oshibana using orchid petals, marquetry, and braided tucum fiber with açaí seeds. The base is crafted from braided cipó de maracujazinho vine.
As echoes of the installation, there is a poem, a short story (see link below), and a YouTube video. No Fio da Madeira was first exhibited in Gravatá, Pernambuco, then in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas, and in Maracaípe.

No Fio da Madeira
Art Installation

I was once a living being — no one noticed.
They’ve killed me daily for millennia
and with my shattered body
they build ships, catapults, and castles.
Now, remnants of what was once a forest
survive stupidity and fire.
In poetic justice,
in the return of the violated,
I pierce, cut, and shred:
with the green fury of the Curupira,
I drag them all across the blade of the wood
.

I felt a slight tremor when I touched them for the first time.
Survivors whose names echo the giants of the forest:
angelim, jatobá, roxinho, pau-marfim, jacarandá, maçaranduba, timborana, cedro, louro, peroba, sucupira. They felt ancient, adorned with precious details of marquetry and oshibana.
